An Amazingly Flexible Conference Format!

We wanted to make this conference as easy to attend as possible for anyone in the United States or around the world. That's why all of the Library Advocacy and Funding Conference (LAFCON) sessions are going to be pre-recorded and concurrently available throughout the three days of the conference. That means that you can watch any session at any time on your own schedule. If you prefer to watch the conference sessions at noon or at midnight, that’s up to you! But that's not the only reason we're pre-recording our sessions.

The Data About Library Supporters

The findings of the OCLC Awareness to Funding studies proved contrary to common library beliefs about who supports libraries and why.

We're Excited to Announce Over A Dozen Sessions for the Library and Advocacy Conference!

Libraries have lost nearly 20% of voter support for library funding during the last 10 years. If this trend continues, in just a few more years, we'll reach a critical point where library funding drastically declines as more library campaigns are lost and as state and federal legislators begin eliminating funding sources.

This Conference Gives Back To Our Associations!

We're excited to bring a conference to libraries that gives back to our amazing library community.

Check out our first three sessions and presenters!

We're excited to announce our first three sessions and presenters. These three presenters are experts in their fields and will be teaching librarians some of latest tips and tricks for fundraising, message building, and brand strategy from their experiences outside of the library profession. At this one-of-a-kind conference, you won't hear from the same speakers that you hear from at other conferences because we're dedicated to bringing in experts from around the world to infuse the library industry with new ideas, concepts, strategies, and tactics to help you build the community support that you need in order to fund your library.

Check back often because we'll be continuously releasing new sessions and presenters every few days!

What Is LAFCON and Why?

The library industry is under threat from a number of major crises simultaneously during these uncertain times, particularly the loss of financial and voter support. The COVID-19 crisis has decimated the fundamental municipal tax base that funds school and public libraries. Even libraries that were doing well before the crisis may be facing new challenges. Without community support, libraries will continue to drastically lose funding in the coming years.
