Diversify Your Library's Revenue

We know over 98% of library funding is politically motivated. But at the Library Advocacy and Funding Conference this September, we’re also interested in growing your philanthropic, CSR, and grant funding opportunities.

What If Every Session Was A Keynote?

That’s the question we asked ourselves when we were putting together this conference. We wanted every session to be a keynote level presenter.

Libraries Aren't Political?

That's a hard argument to make! Libraries are political when they take a stand to support topics such as first amendment rights, information access, the freedom to read and so much more. It’s also true that 98% of library funding is politically driven by the will of local voters and the will of local, state, and federal legislators. That means that if we want to see libraries funded and supported into the future then we need to understand how to navigate this world of politics.

This Conference is Perfect For Library Associations, Consortiums, Friends Groups, and Foundations

The Library Advocacy and Funding Conference (LAFCON) is a perfect opportunity for members of library associations, consortiums, advocacy groups, friends of the library organizations, and library foundations to learn more advanced skills that will help them support their libraries.

50 Complimentary LAFCON Registrations Thanks to Mango Languages!

We’re excited to present 50 complimentary LAFCON tickets to out-of-work, student, and under-employed library workers thanks to a sponsorship from Mango Languages.

An Amazingly Flexible Conference Format!

We wanted to make this conference as easy to attend as possible for anyone in the United States or around the world. That's why all of the Library Advocacy and Funding Conference (LAFCON) sessions are going to be pre-recorded and concurrently available throughout the three days of the conference. That means that you can watch any session at any time on your own schedule. If you prefer to watch the conference sessions at noon or at midnight, that’s up to you! But that's not the only reason we're pre-recording our sessions.

The Data About Library Supporters

The findings of the OCLC Awareness to Funding studies proved contrary to common library beliefs about who supports libraries and why.

Enjoy an Incredibly Flexible Conference Experience!

All of the Library Advocacy and Funding Conference (LAFCON) sessions are going to be pre-recorded and there are a number of great reasons we’re doing this. We want this conference to be easy to attend for people anywhere in the United States or around the world. With all conference sessions available concurrently during the three days of the conference you can watch any session at any time on your own schedule. If you prefer to watch the conference sessions at noon or at midnight, that’s up to you!

We're Excited to Announce Over A Dozen Sessions for the Library and Advocacy Conference!

Libraries have lost nearly 20% of voter support for library funding during the last 10 years. If this trend continues, in just a few more years, we'll reach a critical point where library funding drastically declines as more library campaigns are lost and as state and federal legislators begin eliminating funding sources.

This Conference Gives Back To Our Associations!

We're excited to bring a conference to libraries that gives back to our amazing library community.
